Playing the Detroit Lions on Thursday night to open Week 4 in the NFL means a Monday injury report for the Green Bay Packers, and the first report of the week (which generally arrives Wednesday for a Sunday game) featured 10 players.
Keep in mind, the Packers did not practice on Monday and all participation reports are estimates from Matt LaFleur and his staff.
Buy Packers TicketsRunning back Aaron Jones (hamstring) and outside linebacker Rashan Gary (knee) were limited, but the other eight players were considered “did not participate.”
Here’s the Packers’ DNP list:
LT David Bakhtiari (knee)
LG Elgton Jenkins (knee)
WR Christian Watson (hamstring)
CB Jaire Alexander (back)
LB De’Vondre Campbell (ankle)
OL Zach Tom (knee)
CB Carrington Valentine (biceps)
S Zayne Anderson (hamstring)
Jones, Bakhtiari, Jenkins, Watson, Alexander and Anderson all missed Week 3 with pre-existing injuries. Campbell, Tom and Valentine left the Packers’ 18-17 win over the New Orleans Saints with new injuries.
With only a few days to rest up and recover, the Packers could be severely short-handed again Thursday night in a matchup of 2-1 NFC North teams in primetime.
The Packers will release another injury report Tuesday before final playing time designations arrive Wednesday.
Just for reference, the Lions listed nine players on their first injury report of Week 4, although only three were estimated as non-participants on Monday.
