Packers come back to hand Cowboys a first-of-its-kind defeat

The Dallas Cowboys have been a professional football team since 1960. Not many firsts left for the iconic NFL franchise.

On Nov. 13, 2022, the Green Bay Packers handed the Cowboys a first-of-its-kind loss.

Per the FOX Sports broadcast and ESPN Stats and Information, the Cowboys came into Sunday’s showdown at Lambeau Field with a 180-0 record in the regular season and 15-0 record in the postseason (195-0 overall) when leading by 14 or more points after three quarters.

The winning streak is officially snapped.

The Packers, behind two fourth-quarter touchdown catches from Christian Watson, stormed all the way back, forced overtime and then walked off with a win on Mason Crosby’s 27-yard field goal with just under four minutes left in the extra period.

Comebacks are a big part of the NFL’s ever-lasting intrigue, so this is still a hugely impressive record for the Cowboys. But streaks are meant to be broken.

It just took all of 62 years and another run-in with Cowboy killer Aaron Rodgers for this first one to happen.

195-1.
