Packers CB Jaire Alexander (back) returns to the injury report on Thursday

On Wednesday, Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander was finally removed from the injury report. Just a day later, he’s back on.

Alexander, who already missed two games with a back injury, was listed as limited on Thursday with the same back issue. Coach Matt LaFleur wouldn’t elaborate on the injury other than to confirm Alexander was limited during Thursday’s practice.

An offer for Packers fans

The original injury occurred during the lead up to the Packers’ Week 3 win over the New Orleans Saints. Alexander missed games against the Saints and Detroit Lions before returning for the Packers’ Week 5 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Despite being a full-time player against the Raiders (64 snaps, 100 percent of snaps on defense) and having the full bye week to recover, Alexander’s back flared up again at some point Thursday, possibly putting his availability into question for Sunday’s showdown with the Denver Broncos.

Not having Alexander — a two-time All-Pro corner — ahead of a matchup with Russell Wilson, Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy would be a tough break for a Packers team that has battled key injuries all season.

The Packers will practice again on Friday before issuing a final injury report with playing time designations.
