P.E.I. reports one new COVID-19-related death, 227 new cases

CHARLOTTETOWN — Health officials in Prince Edward Island have announced another person has died due to COVID-19.

Officials say the person who died was aged 60 to 79 years old.

There have now been 14 deaths related to the virus on the Island since the onset of the pandemic.

Officials also say there are four people in hospital due to the disease and four others who were admitted for other medical reasons, but tested positive for COVID-19.

The province reported 227 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 1,811 active infections.

The new cases are now under investigation.
