Ozzy Osbourne says doctors gave him four times normal dose of anaesthetic before op

It was enough to have any medical anaesthetist feeling a tad paranoid.

He’d injected the strange talkative patient lying before him three times – yet he just wouldn’t fall asleep.

But the doc needn’t have worried.

Because the patient was Ozzy Osbourne at the height of drug binges that sent his tolerance levels sky high.

Now 73 and back down to earth, the former Black Sabbath wildman says: “I had a procedure when I was doing all this s***.

The guy putting the stuff in goes, ‘how long have you been doing this music?’ And I said so many years, and kept talking. And he goes, ‘Why aren’t you asleep yet?’”

Ozzy says he needed FOUR times the typical dose “two full syringes” to send him Into The Void. But now he insists the mad old days are over – despite a recent brush with relapse. In a radio interview he revealed he spent £600 on legal cannabis from a shop near his home in LA.

“I got it and I thought what the *** have I bought that for? Four ounces? I just had Covid so I can’t smoke anyway. I’d had one of those thoughts ‘that would be good’. But I never smoked one.”

Ozzy also told Sirius XM: “The thing that keeps me away from it now is I got real with me. One of the main reasons I have embraced my family is because I am not out of my ****ing face any more.”

He has just released single Patient Number 9 about a man in a mental asylum. But he’s postponed a European tour with Judas Priest for a second time - pushing it back to 2023. Ozzy, who says he now feels like “an old guy”, is planning to move back to Britain.
