Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne plan to add rehabilitation wing to Buckinghamshire mansion

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have submitted plans to build a rehabilitation wing on the side of their mansion in Buckinghamshire.

The pair are now planning to move back to the UK from LA as a result of rising taxes, and with Ozzy suffering from Parkinson's Disease, they want to ensure the house has the necessary facilities.

Ozzy, now 73, revealed that he has Parkinson's disease in 2020 following a fall in 2019, and in March this year he and Sharon submitted a planning application for the rehabilitation wing at the Grade II listed home.

Documents submitted to Buckinghamshire Council reveal that the proposals include grab rails and aids as well as an "abundance of stopping sitting places", ramps, soft non-slip surfaces and a flat to accommodate a nurse.

The pair also want to construct a 'health and welfare exercise studio' and a 'pool house orangery'.

They also want to connect with nature, proposing to construct a lake and an outside garden art room featuring a north-facing glazed roof.

If plans are approved the estate will also see additional security, with improvements to the CCTV system and plans for a taller fence.

At present there have not been any objections from any neighbours, and the parish council has not rejected the proposals.

Welders House was originally constructed in the 1890s for Charles Thomson Ritchie, a politician, and is believed to have been used as a place for army nurses suffering from the mental strains of the First World War to rest.

The Osbournes bought the house from Academy award winner John Stears in 1993, with Sharon rumoured to have chosen the destination as it was a long way from any pubs.

They are now awaiting a decision from planning officers at Buckinghamshire Council, and have yet to announce a moving date for their return to the UK.
