A family-run garage that once inspired mile-long queues due to its cheap fuel has been forced to close.
Bailey Garage in Abergavenny, Wales, has been sold due to the cost of living crisis. The business served the local community for over 50 years before closing its doors for the final time last week.
The garage hit national headlines last month for being one of the first in Britain to drastically reduce fuel prices to 20p cheaper than the national average, Wales Online reported. Owner Ian Bailey said his wife, who has been involved with the family business for 37 years, “hasn’t stopped crying” since news of the sale was confirmed.
