Owen Hargreaves has backed new Manchester United striker Wout Weghorst to have a positive impact between now and the end of the season, but admitted that the Dutchman is 'not the sexiest signing' in the club's history.
The Reds signed the 30-year-old forward on loan from Burnley until the end of the season, with the Netherlands international having scored nine goals in 18 appearances across all competitions for Besiktas prior to his move. The Turkish club received €2.825million after Weghorst's loan deal was terminated.
Due to the fact he was registered after Friday's lunchtime deadline, Weghorst was unable to play against Manchester City in the derby on Saturday afternoon.
