Owain Wyn Evans just won Celebrity Mastermind and he can't believe it either

"Are you sure?" was Owain Wyn Evans' reaction when Clive Myrie announced at the end of the latest episode of Celebrity Mastermind that he was the champion in what was an underwhelming instalment when it came to scoring.

The Carmarthenshire-born weatherman, who is currently appearing on BBC's Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof, scored 12 points with his specialist subject, Britney Spears, and general knowledge rounds combined.

Drumming sensation Owain was up against three other celebs, former England rugby international Martin Offiah, comedian Shazia Mirza and former Sugababe Amelle Berrabah, in the Saturday evening quiz which sees contestants pit their knowledge against one another. Mirza and Berrabah had nine points each and Offiah had seven.

After Myrie announced Owain was taking home the trophy the weatherman, who raised millions for Children in Need with his drumathon last November, said with his usual flair: "Can I just say one thing, are you sure?" and asked if it was an admin error. "Oh my goodness, I was expecting high pressure today and I got that, there were stormy clouds on the general knowledge round but as it turned out it was sunshine and rainbows so I was very happy with the outlook," joked Owain whose presenting style has gained him many fans over the years as he's appeared on BBC Wales Today, BBC Look North and BBC Breakfast.

Myrie laughed and told the presenter that it had all been checked out and the Welshman was indeed the episode winner. He was playing for the charity LGBT Foundation. He had two passes and two incorrect answers on Britney and claimed he was "out of the Britney fan club" after his performance.
