Medical campaigners warn that gender discrimination could be causing serious health implications – as over half of women fear they have been misdiagnosed following a visit to a healthcare professional.
Over one in five women (22%) feel their gender is to blame for the incorrect diagnoses – with half saying they were not properly listened to by medical professionals.
And nearly a quarter (23%), of the 2,000 women polled, suspect they received a wrong diagnosis due to a lack of female medical research – a concern echoed by best-selling author and podcaster Emma Gannon.
