The Government has paid more than half a billion euro to landlords in Dublin City since 2019.
A total of €527.8 million has been paid through the Housing Assistance Payment, leased properties and the Rental Accommodation Scheme.
Sinn Fein Councillor Daithi Doolan, who received the figures in response to queries to the Local Authority's Chief Executive, said the money would be much better spent building public housing.
