Pensioners have been reminded they can still get ten per cent off their grocery shop every week at one of the biggest supermarkets in the land. MoneySavingExpert has highlighted that the over-60s offer from Iceland is still running after it was launched during the summer.
Each Tuesday, people aged 60 and over can bag a tenth off their shop at Iceland and The Food Warehouse. There's no minimum spend, meaning eligible customers can secure the discount whatever the size of their shopping list To redeem the discount, shoppers will need to shop on a Tuesday, and show either their Senior Bus Pass, Driver's Licence, The Senior Railcard or Freedom Pass (London).
Earlier this year, Age UK research found three-quarters of older people in the UK (9.4 million) are worried about the rising cost of living. Richard Walker, Iceland managing director, said at the offer's launch: “We have a long history of supporting our over 60s customers, such as when we launched ‘Elderly Hour’ at the height of the pandemic.
"The cost of living crisis has made support for these customers even more important, which is why I’m proud that we’re finding new ways to support them, including the launch of this discount. We hope it will help all those in this age category to cut costs where they can.”
