Over £3000 of council funding granted to Clydesdale community groups

Eleven community groups in Clydesdale have benefited from over £3000 in council funding.

At the Clydesdale area committee last week (October 12), councillors approved funding for the groups and encouraged more to apply for funding due to there being remaining cash available.

Chairwoman of the Clydesdale area committee, Catherine McClymont, encouraged anybody who knows of any groups who would benefit from such a grant, to apply with grant money also left over from last year too.

She added: "I think we’ll make it highlighted to groups to apply for the funding. We need to let the groups know that the money is there if they require it.”

Lanark Agricultural Discussion Society received £300 for an outing, Crawfordjohn Heritage Venture Trust were given £310 for materials, administration and publicity costs.

Crawfordjohn and Elvanfoot WRI were granted £300 for an outing, and Braehead Lunch and Leisure Club received £380 for an outing, entrance fees and equipment.
