For such a short season it looks like the next series of Outlander is set to pack in a lot.
With it already being confirmed that all of the major couples will be facing new challenges, one other fan favourite is also set to have a big season.
Scots star John Bell, who plays Young Ian, has said the “ominous” season six is set to test his character once again.
Speaking with TV mag Digital Spy, John revealed Young Ian is once again between worlds, stuck between his two families, the Fraser Ridge clan and the Mohawk, with the arrival of the Revolutionary War threatening to drive a wedge between both.
The Hobbit star, who is also set to make his stage debut in Broadway hit, The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me, stated things hinted at season five will soon come to fruition.
“There is a lot of mystique about Ian’s life away from the Ridge," John explained. "And if you haven’t read the books and don’t know what is happening, season six certainly delves into Ian’s character more so I have a lot to play with.”
However dark things get for his character (and the others on Fraser Ridge), the Paisley-born actor was elated to point out that it is one of his favourites.
He added: "It is my favourite season so far, it is just so strong, the storylines throughout it – it feels like there is a change of pace, there is an ominous feeling that is happening this season.
“It is sort of like Harry Potter when it was getting darker, it is a little bit of that feeling that we can’t stop this inevitability.”
We are getting more and more excited with every teaser for season six!
