Outlander star Graham McTavish has taken to social media to delight fans with more snaps of his 'secret' Scots wedding to Garance Doréfo as he gushed over how "proud" he was to be able to call her his wife.
The Glasgow-born actor, best known for his role as Dougal MacKenzie in the Starz TV series, tied the knot at Borthwick Castle in Scotland recently, with guests including his kids and co-star Duncan Lacroix looking on.
The 62-year-old met author and businesswoman Garance a year and a half ago and the pair got engaged last August.
Taking to his Instagram, writer and producer Graham said: "I suddenly remembered that weddings are really supposed to be all about the bride and not the bald bearded bloke with the sporran!
"So I couldn’t resist some more snaps mainly of the woman I’m so proud to call my wife @garancedore plus one of us with the wingmen @paulkavanagh64 and @dougyrao and, of course, our dog Lulu who sadly does not do social media but who DID insist on picking her own outfit."
He added: "Huge thanks to the @glencorsepb for a cracking display of the pipes and drums and @gordonnicolsonkiltmakers and @21stcenturykilts for the magnificent kilts. Photos: @yann_audic."
Fans flooded to the post to congratulate the star and share his glee at the special day as they wished him "many happy years" with his new wife.
Speaking of the engagement to British Vogue, Graham previously said: “I couldn’t wait to get engaged, I’m amazed I waited as long as I did before asking her!"
Sharing photos from his glamorous wedding, he added on social media: "Earlier this year I was lucky enough to marry this wonderful woman @garancedore Yes! We celebrated in Scotland. Yes! In a castle. Yes! With my wonderful children and Yes! With a giant sporran.
"My youngest daughter Hope made the place cards. My dear friends @paulkavanagh64 and @dougyrao made sure everything ran smoothly and as you can see @duncan.lacroix took dancing to new levels!! It was a wonderful, joy filled day surrounded by family and friends."
The Scots star met his stunning bride, author and founder of the skincare line Doré, Garance on the celebrity dating app Raya.
The couple chose the stunning venue just outside Edinburgh after Graham eyed it up for another celebration. He told British Vogue: “I had already discovered Borthwick before I met Garance as a venue for my 60th birthday.
"Covid put a delay on that for two years, so it felt right that we devote a whole week to not only our wedding but my long-delayed 60th.”
Despite relocating to New Zealand after stints living in Canada and America, Graham was keen to ensure his wedding reflected his Scottish roots and heritage as he sported a kilt and a sentimental ring which was engraved with his initials, as well as those of Garance’s and his children Honor and Hope.
The House of the Dragon star also wore a necklace underneath his shirt which held his mum's wedding ring.
