Outlander's Diana Gabaldon shares good and bad news about two fan favourites in book 10

Fans of Outlander will be delighted to know that author Diana Gabaldon seems to be well on her way to writing the final book.

Though she has just published book nine of the series, she also recently announced that she is poking away at the as-yet-unnamed tenth book of the series "little by little".

Although she has shared one clip from it already, she's just revealed a second teaser, meaning those eager fans who had already finished 'Go Tell the Bees' had something else to enjoy.

The prolific writer, who is already planning on working on prequel books and confirmed that book 10 might not be the end for Jamie and Claire, surprised fans by posting the snippet on her website.

The post, which she put up on social media and her own website has some interesting info regarding two fan favourites.

Before you go any further or click on the above link - *this is a warning* - it features MAJOR spoilers if you haven't read book nine go no further.

With that out of the way then...

The text features William Ransom and Frances Pocock, with Jamie's son seemingly returning to Fraser's Ridge.

Though the piece is short it ends ominously, with Claire asking how William's protector Lord John Gray is.

To which, William responds: "I wish I knew,” his face and voice both suddenly bleak.

It's a fascinating look at the future with possible bad news around one of the most popular characters, Lord John Gray.

We guess we'll have to wait until the book is finally finished to find out more.
