Viewers have been obsessed with Outer Bank, with the series hitting Netflix's top ten in 74 countries after its release.
Season three of the popular drama really had it all from tense chases to the long-awaited reunion of John B with his dad. Fans were able to see the progression from the group being stranded on an island - “Poguelandia” - in season two, to the teens being rescued and finding themselves in Barbados.
Travelling across the Caribbean the pogues are never far from danger and when Rafe shows up things couldn’t get much worse. The pogues finally make it back to Kildare, falling back into the pogue life once more until they have to go on a rescue mission to not only save Big John but also to find the treasure before Singh can get his hands on it.

One scene that has got fans talking was when Rafe was melting down the cross. Before he set the priceless artifact alight, Rafe removed a key from the small compartment in the middle of the cross. Eagle-eyed viewers noticed that this key is the same one Pope found in season two. But after Rafe pocketed the key, it wasn't shown again.
A viewer took to Reddit to share their confusion over what the key was for and whether it was seen again later in the season.
The OP’s post was titled ‘What did Rafe take out of the cross?’ and asked: “Before he melted down the cross, he opened up a compartment and took out a key. Subsequently put the key in his pocket. What is this key for? Is it unknown so far, did it have a role in a prior season, or was it used later in this season and I just overlooked it?”
People soon took to the comments section to share their insights. One commented: “The key unlocked the compartment where the healing shroud Limbery wanted was meant to be. It wasn’t there." They went on to explain the reason behind Rafe removing the key was that “Rafe would have taken it out as the wool would have melted into the gold, thus making it less valuable.”
Someone else guessed the reason behind the key was a clue for season four, they wrote: “Are you sure that’s what it’s for? I think him finding that key was something they planted for next season…”
