Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen teases new 'exciting' projects

Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen has teased that there are "new" and "exciting" projects in the pipeline during an interview on Thursday's Lorraine. The 48-year-old shepherdess appeared on the ITV morning programme to talk about the paperback release of her book 'Celebrating the Seasons with the Yorkshire Shepherdess'.

The mum-of-nine rose to fame, along with her family, through the Channel 5 show which followed their life running the 2,000-acre hill farm, Ravenseat, in North Yorkshire. There have been five seasons so far - with the most recent airing in late 2021 and fans have been eagerly awaiting updates on a sixth series.

On Thursday, Amanda was quizzed by Christine Lampard, who was sitting in for Lorraine Kelly, about when viewers can expect a new instalment of the popular programme. The presenter said: "There's a new series incoming, I believe. I'm not sure when." whilst Amanda replied: "Well, there's all kinds of up-and-coming projects that I, obviously, have to remain firmly quiet about."

Amanda was also asked about separating from her husband of 22 years, Clive. The pair, who share nine children, released a statement in June announcing their split, but said they would continue to work together on the farm and co-parent their children.

Speaking on Lorraine, Amanda said “life carries on on the farm" adding: “That is reality. It is really tough and it is a really difficult aspect of it to get across. But when you do reality it has to be just that. That means it covers the ups and downs and that can be on any level.

“Life carries on on the farm. Obviously there is a whole raft of things to do – nine children, a whole heap of animals. We are just working away same as before. Because at the end of the day our priority remains, of course, to keep everything going.

“There you go, that’s how it is. I felt like that needed to be out there so that people… There are new projects going on. There are exciting new things going on.”

The Channel 5 series Our Yorkshire Farm first launched in 2018 and the shepherdess was asked whether their children had been affected by finding themselves in the spotlight. “They remain very, very unaffected," She replied.

"Because at the end of the day they don’t see their lives as anything out of the ordinary. Who does? We are literally just doing our thing.

“Yeah, we get more opportunities, we meet more people, there are people coming to the farm. They have even been out and about with me when I have been going to theatres, doing talks. In real terms, it’s made us a whole lot busier.”

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV and ITV Hub from 9am. You can stream all five series of Our Yorkshire Farm on My5.
