While children are accustomed to playing games, one woman is furious that the neighbourhood football matches are damaging her fence.
The homeowner explained that not only is the property becoming damaged by children playing football, but her privacy is also being violated as they're constantly kicking a ball on her drive.
Taking to popular forum site Reddit, the anonymous user questioned whether she was unreasonable to put a stop to the neighbour's children playing recklessly.
She explained: "So I had some new neighbours recently and I have a front fenced garden and drive afforded by the fact I'm the end house."
The woman went on: "I was dreading new neighbours but they seemed friendly enough.
"Their son made friends with the other neighbour's kid who's the same age and they started playing football on the drive ( they have a huge drive with no garden) initially with a cheap lightweight plastic shoot ball and I didn't mind them retrieving the ball from the front garden.
"Then the ball got upgraded to a leather Casey-type ball. It was constantly kicked against the fence and my front door and it felt like the neighbours kids were constantly in my front garden so much so we put privacy mirrored film on the front window which is our living room.

"I did say to the kids don't kick the football at the fence (which is ours) because it was starting to break and not to climb over the gate (we saw them on the ring doorbell). We have a ginnel between our houses for access to the rear gardens so to the right of my door I have short gate to access the shared access ginnel which we only use really when mowing the lawn.
"Soon I will have to run two lines of paving slabs across the front garden so my disabled son can park his brand new mobility car in front of the house so we have space for three cars mind my husband's and my son's, I'm really starting to worry now about my son's car getting damaged by either the football or the kids in general constantly in the garden retrieving the football potentially scratching his car.
"The neighbours have a huge long back garden I'd rather they play football there than the drive. I am being unreasonable for complaining?"
"I'm fed up with constantly hearing the bang of the football on the fence it being damaged and the kids being in my garden," she added.
After sharing her thread online, Reddit users took to the comment section to assure the woman that she wasn't being unreasonable.
One person wrote: "Not the a**hole if you voice your concerns to the parents. You have plenty of evidence that the kids are being, well, kids. They're being thoughtless and not really thinking about the consequences of their actions."
Meanwhile, someone else said: "Not the a**hole. 'Don't kick the ball against my fence' is a perfectly reasonable request. It would be fine for them to play on their driveway, but not if they keep kicking the ball at your fence."
