Our Liverpool: the rich history of a 140 year old Liverpool pub

Hello and welcome to Our Liverpool.

Before Lark Lane became the Lark Lane it is today, there was The Albert. It's a pub which has stood the test of time and still remains today over a century after it started pulling pints for thirsty Liverpudlians.

The pub's history is fascinating to say the least, and the building could've once been a mortuary. Many will also remember the days of snooker tables on the first floor, where pre-world championship matches would be held. Our nostalgia reporter Jess Molyneux spoke to those now running the iconic pub.

Six Merseyside schools named among best in the country

Six schools in Merseyside have been included in a nationwide shortlist for a prestigious set of awards, the Tes Schools Awards. Notably schools in the region have dominated the "Inclusive School of the Year" category, with four of the eight finalists coming from Merseyside.

A suspect wanted for questioning over the murder of a teenage boy is facing years in a Spanish jail after being convicted of guns and drugs charges. Jason Curry, 27, from Toxteth, was circulated as wanted after Yusuf Sonko, 18, was murdered on Tagus Street in 2017.

The late night takeaway that's had a cult following for over 30 years

One kebab shop has been serving the hungry people of Liverpool for over three decades thanks to its late hours and delicious food. Generations of families will recall stories of asking the taxi to stop on the way back from town to go to Baris, which has become such a firm favourite by nothing other than word of mouth.
