The "saga" of the reopening of Woolton Picture House remains on-going after months of silence from the owners of what is considered to be the city's oldest surviving cinema - despite it not showing a single film throughout 2022.
ECHO reporter Dan Haygarth, who has been following the story closely, said "people deserve answers" after seven months of silence concerning the fate of the cinema where generations discovered their love of the big screen. He said the "least the owners can do is keep their word" after they promised monthly updates into what was happening with the popular cinema.

Row erupts as Labour denies councillor is behind troll account
The Labour Party has denied suggestions a Labour Councillor is behind a troll Twitter account that regularly mocks political rivals. The denial comes after a tweet was posted then quickly deleted over the weekend from Cllr Tom Cardwell's account.
The tweet appeared to use very similar language to that used by the troll account, and the leader of Liverpool's Community Independents Alan Gibbons said Cllr Cardwell had been caught out by the tweet.
Woman arrested after serious sexual assault in city centre
A 37-year-old woman has been arrested after a sexual assault in Liverpool city centre yesterday morning. Police were called to the Podworks Hotel on Henry Street at around 3am, where they found a woman who is believed to have been subjected to a serious sexual assault.
The woman was treated for her injuries after being taken to hospital.
