Our Liverpool: Merseyside remembers 'angel' Elle Edwards

Good morning everyone and welcome to Wednesday's first edition of Our Liverpool.

Today is a poignant one for the region, with the funeral of Elle Edwards set to take place on the Wirral. Her murder on Christmas Eve last year has left the Wallasey community devastated, but people continue to rally and show their support.

Remembering Elle

The popular 26-year-old beautician was described by friends as "radiant" with an "infectious laugh" and "bright smile". Elle was gunned down just before midnight on Christmas Eve in a senseless attack that left four others injured. She will be laid to rest at St Nicholas Church later today, with the service starting at 12.30pm.

In the future, Elle's dad Tim hopes to set up a foundation in her memory and vowed that "her name will be used for good".

Farewell Frank

If you're part of the blue half of Merseyside like myself I'm sure you've been feeling nothing but utter despair for months on end. This came to a head on Monday when manager Frank Lampard was handed his P45 - the eleventh change at the top since Farhad Moshiri acquired a stake in the Toffees in 2016. While his results speak for themselves, I liked Frank and thought he resonated with what the club stands for. I can't tell you who I want in his place but I know something at the top needs to change.

Lights, camera, action!

You may have noticed some camera crew activity around the city centre as Liverpool's stunning architecture looks set to take centre stage in yet another TV series.

Our photographer Andy Teebay managed to get some snaps of filming taking place in and around the Town Hall, as well as a replica cenotaph being constructed on Water Street. He was told the prop is set to be blown up for scenes in Sky drama series COBRA, which is led by Victoria Hamilton and Robert Carlyle. Crews were also spotted in Halewood earlier this week.
