With the Grand National this weekend many will be getting their outfits ready to go and enjoy the festivities, but there are some who live so close they don't even change out of their housecoat to feel the atmosphere. The racecourse has always had neighbours on Melling Road and more recently on Seeds Lane.
You might expect such a big event to bring some disruption, but these neighbours say they "don't get much hassle" and tend to enjoy the "lovely" build up. They spoke to Storm Newton ahead of the big event.

Tragic mum-of-four 'lived for her kids'
A mum died suddenly after her daughter was unable to wake her up. Rebecca Elizabeth Lanson suffered a seizure at home before she was found by daughter Lacey, who made the heartbreaking call to her auntie to tell her mum wasn't waking up.
Rebecca's dad Keith said he wants her to be remembered for the outgoing and "bubbly" person she is, who "lived for her kids."
Boy with autism breaks down in tears as his 'lifeline' is returned
A 15-year-old with autism was distraught when his therapy cat, called Simba, went missing over the weekend before it was found 50ft up a tree. To mum Sheila the cat was inaccessible, that was until a group of "guardian angels" banded together to rescue and return him home.
Man dies after neighbours see him in the road
A man has died after his neighbours saw him acting erratically in the road and called the police. The man was suspected to have suffered a medical episode and was taken to hospital where he since died.
The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to the police contact prior to the man being taken to hospital.
