Deck Nine has appeared at the Future Games Show's Spring Showcase powered by HyperX to give us a peek at Life is Strange: Reunion in full flow.
As part of a gameplay preview, we see protagonists Max and Chloe arrive at a mysterious house party where the only enforced dress code is a special mask. As the pair only has one between them, Max goes in to snoop around.

After some of that snooping, you only notice a mascot that looks to me like a cockatrice – basically a chicken, with some beastly additions. Taking note of things like this is important, as Max faces her first hurdle when trying to enter the house, as she needs to provide a password she doesn't know.
Parts of the conversation are censored, so we don't fully know what's said, but it's clear she's close to guessing the password, but not quite there, so entry is denied. Typically, that'd be game over for most, but one of the core mechanics here is that you can rewind time, so Max is free to do just that and enter the house.
After a bit more sleuthing, Max finds a mask she's free to take back to Chloe so they can both enter the party and continue unraveling the game's central mystery. That's where the gameplay preview ends, but it's clear that some clever use of deduction and rewinding time is key to doing just that.
As for that overall mystery, so far, we know that Life is Strange: Reunion has our duo facing catastrophe unless they can stop it. While Max being able to rewind time is helpful there, she can only go as far back as three days in this instance. So you've got some time to unravel all of this, but not a lot.
Best get to it then. You can do just that when Life is Strange: Reunion releases on March 26, 2026.
