LUCKNOW: Chief Minister-designate Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that effective implementation of the 4T model (Trace-Test-Treat-Tika) enabled UP to curb Covid-19 spread and the state is well prepared to even deal with the fourth wave of pandemic.
“Implementation of 4T model has enabled UP to curb Covid-19. Currently, the number of active cases has come down to less than 1,000. UP is also leading in terms of conducting Covid-19 tests and vaccination,” Yogi said while launching the vaccination campaign for children in the age group of 12-14 years.
Reviewing the special vaccination drive for children at Civil Hospital in Lucknow, Yogi expressed satisfaction at the overwhelming response from the target group.
“Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, India has been fighting the pandemic with complete preparedness. India’s Covid-19 management has not only been appreciated globally but has been adopted widely too,” he said.
Uttar Pradesh has so far administered more than 29.54 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine. More than 103% adults have received the first dose, while 82% have received both. Similarly, 97% of the people with comorbidities and front line workers, including policemen, who are eligible for the ‘precaution doses’ have been vaccinated.
Yogi also expressed gratitude to the PM for beginning the vaccination of children in the age group of 12-14, and for taking forward the vaccination drive in a phased manner.
As many as 84.64 lakh children in the age category of 12-14 years are to be vaccinated for which, availability of vaccines has been ensured in the state.
