Otherside Festival is returning for a second year running this month. The festival will be taking over Slane Castle this weekend from July 7 to 9.
There will be a number of stalls and events happening across the weekend which include singers, a banquet style dinner, hot tubs, saunas, comedy shows, massage and wellness treatments, late night music sessions and food and drink stands. SBTRKT will be headlining on Friday night, with CMAT headlining on Saturday and Bombay Bicycle Club on Sunday.
Other acts which will be performing include Aby Coulibaly, AJ Ferris, Joe Skylark, Nixer, Eric Brown and much more. With approximately 30 acts on each day there will be something for everyone.
For the comedy shows, The Craic Den Comedy Club will be taking over with performances from comedians Aideen McQueen, Ashlee Benson , Brain Gallagher and more. There will also be performances from Irish storytelling club Seanchoiche.

The banquet dinner will be taking place on Saturday alongside the fun of a live drag show and on Sunday there will be the entertainment of a live trad session while people tuck into their roast dinners. The tickets for the dinner are €45 there is also a cocktail pairing package available which is an additional €20 and tickets can be bought directly from the festival website.
The campsite will be open to valid ticket holders from 12pm on Friday and the arena will be open from 1pm. The festival do have an express bus service in place for people with day tickets to get to and from the event.
The bus starts at Connolly Station and will stop at Dundrum Centre, Tallaght Stadium, Wright Venue, Blanchardstown and Liffey Valley before dropping people off at the festival site. The bus will depart daily from Connolly Station at 1pm and 3pm and return each night at 12am and 3am and Monday morning from 10am until 1pm.
There are also options in place for people who want to drive to the festival site. Attendees will have to purchase a €15 parking ticket which can be bought ahead of time via Ticketmaster and there will be shuttle buses running from the car park to the festival site.
There are three different types of tickets available for the festival which all allow access to different aspects of the event. The day tickets allow people to come to the festival for the day but they will not have access to the campsite facilities. General camping tickets allow access to the general campsite including showering facilities and toilets. People must bring their own tents.
Those who have the Boutique campsite tickets have access to a range of sustainable pre pitched tents along with unique luxury accommodation. These campers will: "have access to the following additional facilities including posh loos, real showers, a covered campsite HQ with seating."
When it comes to what is allowed in the campsite, Otherside Festival do have a list of items which are prohibited and that includes the following:
- All glass must be decanted into plastic bottles.
- Glass, other than small perfume bottles under 50ml
- Fireworks, flares or high-power torches.
- No illegal or controlled substances (including psychoactive substances) allowed on site
- Nitrous oxide
- Only small portable Bluetooth speakers are permitted. Large speakers and sound systems are not permitted
- Dogs or pets are not permitted on-site with the exception of assistance dogs
- Generators
- Gas canisters above 500g
- Barbeques or campfires
- Kites or extendable flag poles
- Drones/sky lanterns
- Portable laser equipment and pens
- Gazebos
- Selfie sticks
- Spray cans/marker pens
- Professional film/videoing equipment
- Megaphones/airhorns
- High-vis tabards or jackets
- Any items which may reasonably be considered for use as a weapon
Alcohol is permitted but is limited to 24 cans or two bottles of wine or one one litre bottle of spirits per person. Campers must leave the campsites by 1pm on Monday afternoon at the latest.
There are limited day tickets and general weekend tickets available for the festival on Ticketmaster.
