Sunday night's Oscars event was sent into chaos after Will Smith stormed the stage when he appeared to take offence to a gag Chris Rock made on stage about Jade Pinkett Smith's short hair.
Referring to Pinkett Smith, Rock said: "Jada, can't wait for GI Jane 2."
His joke referred to the 1997 film GI Jane, in which Demi Moore played the title role with a buzzcut.

The joke prompted Smith, 53, to walk up on stage during the live ceremony as he appeared to strike Rock before he returned to his seat, shouting: "Keep my wife's name out of your… mouth."
He later apologised to Rock in an emotional acceptance speech after winning his first Oscar for playing the father of tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams in King Richard.
Smith said: "I want to apologise to the Academy. I want to apologise to my all my fellow nominees.
"Art imitates life. I look like the crazy father, just like they said about Richard Williams. But love will make you do crazy things."
In response to the incident, the Academy tweeted that it "does not condone violence of any form".
Smith is believed to have taken offence to the gag made about Pinkett Smith's hair after she had previously spoken about having the hair loss condition alopecia.
Pinkett Smith opened up about her hair loss struggle in an episode of her Facebook chat show, Red Table Talk, back in 2018.
She said: "I've been having issues with hair loss. And it was terrifying when it first started."
Adding that, she became worried after "handfuls of hair" began to fall out while she was in the shower.
"I was just like, 'Oh my God, am I going bald?' It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking with fear," she explained. "That's why I cut my hair and continue to cut it."
Rock looked bewildered on stage after the incident telling the audience: "That was the greatest night in the history of television."
He then handed over the best documentary prize, which was the reason he was on stage.
