The biggest night in show business is back a bit later than usual this year and the 94th Academy Awards will have a phenomenal array of stars and celebrities. Along with the nominated stars such as Will Smith, Nicole Kidman and Judi Dench, numerous other stars will also be present with Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Samuel L. Jackson all expected to be in attendance at this year’s ceremony.
The hosting duties this year will be shared between three female comedians: Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall. Beyonce, Billie Eilish and Finneas will be amongst the performers on the night.
The films that are favourites to win the Best Picture Oscar are the Benedict Cumberbatch western The Power of the Dog, which has been nominated in 12 categories, and the coming-of-age drama CODA, which stars Emilia Jones the daughter of Welsh TV presenter and singer Aled Jones. The Oscars this year are celebrating the very best films of the year including such blockbusters as Dune and Encanto to small dramas like Drive My Car and CODA.
But to try and combat last year's low viewing figures, the Oscars have introduced a controversial popular film section (chosen by the public) and an Oscars Cheer Moment. Some of the films being recognised in these categories include Cinderella, Spider-Man: No Way Home and Johnny Depp’s Minamata.
