Orlando police and fire department personnel have been instructed to shelter in place as heavy winds from the approaching storm, named Milton, have reached more than 40 mph in the area. This decision was made to ensure the safety of the emergency crews as well as the residents of Orlando.

The City of Orlando posted on social media that due to the high wind speeds, emergency crews have been pulled off the roads temporarily. The post mentioned that once the wind speed decreases, the personnel will be able to resume responding to calls for service.

High wind speeds of over 40 mph prompt temporary suspension of emergency response.

Residents in the area have also been advised to shelter in place until further notice. This precaution is crucial to prevent any unnecessary risks or accidents that may occur due to the severe weather conditions.

As the storm, Milton, continues to approach the city, it is important for everyone to stay informed and follow the instructions provided by local authorities. Safety should be the top priority for both emergency personnel and residents during such weather events.

We urge everyone in the Orlando area to stay indoors, stay updated on the latest weather alerts, and avoid any unnecessary travel until the situation improves. Let us all work together to ensure the safety and well-being of our community during this challenging time.
