Key cast members of the High School Musical film series are returning to the franchise to reprise their roles in the fourth instalment - subtitled The Reunion.
A string of key actors and actresses from the trilogy of high school based films will reunite and slip back into character for a fourth ‘film’ - although all is not exactly what it seems.
The six cast members are due to play versions of themselves in spin-off TV show High School Musical: The Musical: The Series which airs on Disney+.
The cast members will return to East High to ‘film’ the fourth film - mingling with members of the TV series cast in the process.

Variety reports: “Original High School Musical franchise cast members ... have joined season four of the Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
"The new season will take a meta turn, with the Principal Gutierrez character announcing that Disney has decided to make the long-awaited High School Musical 4: The Reunion movie on location at their in-show high school."
Among the original stars making their comeback are Corbin Bleu, who played basketball playing high schooler Chad Danforth, and Monique Coleman, who played scholastic decathlon team captain Taylor McKessie.
Lucas Grabeel will also be back to re-play scheming twin Ryan Evans, while Alyson Reed is returning as drama teacher Ms Darbus.
Bart Johnson will reprise his characterJack Bolton - the father of Zac Efron’s Troy Bolton and also the high school’s basketball team coach.
And Kaycee Stroh rounds out the returning cast as hip-hop loving Martha Cox.
Variety adds: “Bleu, Coleman, Grabeel, Johnson, Reed and Kaycee Stroh will play themselves, resurrecting their High School Musical roles within the show, while the students will play featured extras in the in-universe movie.”
While main stars Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron have not been named among the guest cast, both performers have recently shared footage and photos of themselves at the set of the Disney + TV show.
Taking to Instagram in July, Zac shared a photo of himself posing outside a school building with his hand held in the sky, and added a caption: "Don’t you… Forget about me" alongside a fist emoji.
While the caption is a reference to the iconic 1980s film The Breakfast Club, there was no mistaking the fact that the backdrop to his photo was that of the East High school building.
A banner was present above the entrance to ‘Salt Lake High School East’ that proudly states: “East High 100 years of tradition!”
Vanessa, who played Gabriella Montez, posed outside the same school set just a month previously.

The actress shared a video of herself beaming with a smile outside the school alongside a cryptic message.
She wrote: “Do you remember in kindergarten how you'd meet a kid and know nothing about them, then 10 seconds later you're playing like you're best friends because you didn't have to be anything but yourself?”
