No Rest for the Wicked's new co-op update has seen Moon Studios' Action RPG top the Steam charts ahead of Arc Raiders, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Forza Horizon 6.
After leaving Ori in the blind forest, Moon Studios went on to create Diablo-esque action RPG No Rest for the Wicked, which launched into early access in 2024. Last year was a mixed bag for the game that saw the studio regain its independence after 2K Games sold publishing arm Private Division, and then followed up with a patch that was so rough the studio's CEO Thomas Mahler said it was "probably one of the worst days of my life," however he clarified that the studio wasn't in immediate financial danger after it was put into question following sustained negative reviews.
Mahler previously said he'd like to turn the game's Steam rating from a "58 into a 90," and two years later its almost there, with it currently sitting at an 86% "Very Positive" rating. However, the game's new co-op update may be what pushes it over the line, as it's already done wonders for the game.
No Rest for the Wicked Together launched on Thursday, January 22, alongside a free weekend and a 40% off sale, allowing new players to jump in. Mahler took to Twitter to celebrate the success of the update, saying, "Okay, something is clearly happening here… No Rest for the Wicked is #1 on Steam right now, ahead of" Arc Raiders, Forza Horizon 6, GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2.
He continues that the game is selling 50,000 copies per day, and adds, "Thank you so much folks! That's unbelievable support and our team couldn't be happier!" and that "We're already working as hard as possible on our 1.0 content. We can't wait to show it to you all."
