A CONFERENCE to bring together the Yes movement has been rescheduled.
Progress to Yes - hosted by the Aberdeen Independence Movement (AIM) - has been rescheduled to give the movement an event after the SNP conference on March 19.
Whilst speaking with multiple Yes groups and leading independence figures, organisers recognised an appetite for a post-SNP special conference gathering.
The conference will now be held on March 25 and 26 at the Aberdeen Altens Hotel.
Planners hope this will give grassroots Yes activists two events to figure out the path to independence - through a de facto referendum or not.
The events in the coming months are now:
- February 18: Believe in Scotland's online congress
- March 19: SNP member-only special democracy conference
- March 25 and 26: Progress to Yes conference
Updated details on speakers will be announced but organisers have said not much will change and, if anything, there will be more speakers in attendance.
The upcoming Progress to Yes conference will still kick off with interactive panel discussions on Saturday morning. The afternoon will be dominated by reaction to SNP conference and how this impacts the map ahead for independence, giving attendees a voice on the process.
Sunday will see more panels and workshops hosted in the morning. After lunch, the event will change format, with AIM and the Sunday National hosting their first Progress To Yes rally in the venue, with live music, speeches, and comedy.
