Oregon Lands Ex-Oklahoma QB Dillon Gabriel From Transfer Portal, per Report

Former Oklahoma quarterback Dillon Gabriel announced on social media that he is transferring to Oregon. A number of schools were interested in adding Gabriel, but the quarterback reportedly visited Eugene earlier this week and has decided to commit to the Ducks.

Gabriel spent his first three collegiate seasons at UCF, playing in a total of 26 games and throwing 70 touchdown passes to just 14 interceptions. He transferred to Oklahoma in 2022 and started 24 games for the Sooners over the past two seasons, accumulating another 55 touchdown passes to just 12 interceptions.

The 22-year-old Gabriel is expected to replace Bo Nix as Oregon’s starting quarterback, as Nix has exhausted his eligibility following two years with the Ducks. Oregon went 11–2 this season, suffering both of its losses to Washington, and are expected to be a top contender next year in the Big Ten.

Gabriel grew up in Hawaii and will follow in the footsteps of another Hawaiian quarterback, Marcus Mariota, who won a Heisman Trophy while playing at Oregon.
