The Bannsiders boss was quick to praise Carson's contribution to the club's success after penning a new three-and-a-half year contract.
“When clubs are successful, it allows for players to earn new contracts and to be fair to Josh, he has been one of our most consistent performers,” he said.
“Josh epitomises our recent success and where we have got as a club and he has a high level of consistency and graft.
“His work rate is phenomenal and he is adaptable at playing in a variety of positions.
“He would probably be up there as one of my best ever signings and I’m pleased that he has agreed this new deal.”
