Some are tracking Oracle's Slack member count almost like a stock ticker. Numbers reportedly moved from 150,198 to 150,181 and then 150,113, prompting speculation that employees were being removed from the system.
Others cautioned that the changes could simply reflect normal attrition, making Slack numbers an unreliable indicator of layoffs.
