This five-door electric car can do 0-60mph in 8.3 seconds
Ora, a dedicated electric-vehicle sub-brand of Chinese car-maker GWM (Great Wall Motors), is hoping to set “the Funky Cat among the EV pigeons in Europe”, said What Car?. Known as the First Edition, it has a 45.5kWh (usable) battery and a single 169bhp front motor, giving an official range of 193 miles.

The Funky Cat can do 0-62mph in 8.3 seconds with a top speed of 99mph, said Autocar. It’s pretty well equipped, but is lacking Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, though this is expected to come soon, along with a sportier version. It’s a mature ride, but there’s too much body roll and the light steering gives no feedback. The suspension soaks up most bumps, but there’s more noise than most rivals.
Quoted efficiency is a “pretty respectable” 4.02 miles per kilowatt hour, and a full recharge at home will take just over 7 hours (or 43 minutes to 80% with a 100kW charger), said The Daily Telegraph. “Superficially charming” inside with a fake-leather dash and harsh plastics; it is spacious and roomy, but the boot is tiny at 228 litres. And the inconsistent 10.3in central touchscreen has items buried in confusing multiple menus.
