Opposition Meeting: Great bonhomie between Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi seen during Bengaluru conclave

Excellent bonhomie between SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav and former Congress Prez Rahul Gandhi

Bengaluru: In the 2-day Opposition Parties Meet which concluded today, seversl top leaders of 26 Parties met to chalk out a strategy to dislodge the BJP Government at the Centre in the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls 2024.

However, during the Meet the chemistry of Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi was quite visible. The bonhomie between Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi drew the attention of many a leaders.

Both the leaders met a number of times during the Conclave, shook hands, smiling and laughing and relishing each other's company. Many of their such pictures are getting viral on social media.

However, it is not that such fond chemistry between Akhilesh and Rahul has been seen for the first time. Earlier, in 2017 Vidhan Sabha elections in UP, when there was an alliance between Congress and Samajwadi Party, both the leaders Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav addressed many public meetings and participated in a number of 'yatras' together and earned lot of public appreciation.

But despite a compatible chemistry between the two, the SP-Congress alliance under the leadership of Akhilesh-Rahul could not get the expected result and the two parties parted ways. But as the saying goes, once a friend is always a friend, so when the necessity arose, the old 'friendship' has now revived. In Bengaluru Meet the same fondness between the two was again seen.

Among other points that were discussed in the meet included common minimum progamme, name of this new alliance and of course the venue of the next meeting.

While the new name 'Indian National Democratic Inclusive Alliance' will replace 'UPA', the venue of the next meeting will be Mumbai. A coordination committee will also be set up.

In the Opposition Meeting the leaders who were present included  Congress Parliamentary Party chief Sonia Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Trinamool Congress Chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Bihar Chief Minister and top leader of Janata Dal (United) Nitish Kumar, NCP leader Sharad Pawar, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Soren Kejriwal, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav and others.
