Opposition leader María Corina Machado addressed a crowd in Las Mercedes, Caracas, on Saturday. The gathering served as a focal point for the protest organized by the opposition to contest the results announced by the National Electoral Council (CNE). The CNE declared President Nicolás Maduro as the winner, but as of six days before the elections, they have not yet provided the official minutes certifying the victory.
After a peaceful rally and the delivery of remarks by Machado, who had not made a public appearance since Tuesday, the attendees joined together to sing the national anthem.
