NEW DELHI: Opposition members in Rajya Sabha on Thursday accused the government of undermining the federal structure with TMC citing expansion of BSF’s jurisdiction without consulting the states and the move to amend the IAS cadre rules while in Lok Sabha, the parties alleged that the government had failed to rein in prices and check unemployment.
During the resumed debate on Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address in the upper House, BJD MP Sasmit Patra alleged discrimination between states, pointing out how 25 lakh houses in Karnataka were covered under the PM Grameen Awas Yojana and not even 6 lakh houses in Odisha despite the Naveen Patnaik government’s request pending for three years.
