Opinions divided as green light given to bar serving alcohol from 9am

Opinions appear to be divided over plans which would see a bar and restaurant able to service alcohol earlier in the morning and later at night.

The Old Post Office restaurant and bar in Ormskirk has been given the go ahead to vary its licence by West Lancashire Borough Council. This would see it serve alcohol from 9am until 1.30am.

Applicant Stuart MacFarlane, of Vici Leisure Group Ltd previously requested the sale of alcohol from 9am to 2am, seven days a week and for consumption on and off the premises, due to the sale of breakfasts, brunch and takeaways, but councillors agreed on Monday to an end time of 1.30am for alcohol sales.
