The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said he accepts the findings of a damning 360-page report into the state of the Met Police.
On Tuesday the Mayor called it ‘one of the darkest days in the history of the Met Police service’, as the report found the force is institutionally racist, homophobic and misogynistic.
The report was produced by Baroness Dame Louise Casey, who denounced a catalogue of failings at Scotland Yard infecting every level of the force, and said that the protection of women had also been “thrown out of the window”.
The Evening Standard’s Home Affairs Editor Martin Bentham tells The Leader Podcast why the report is the ‘worst in the Met’s history', and discusses the details of the findings.
Plus, Dr Jessica Taylor, a chartered psychologist and CEO of Victim Focus discusses her experience working within police forces, and how negative cultures breed in the wrong environment.
