The United Arab Emirates Space Agency has managed to capture the highest resolution images of Mars’s smallest moon, Deimos.
The space agency’s probe Hope captured the images during a series of flybys of the moon.
Hessa Almatroushi, the science lead for the Emirates Mars Mission, tells Tech & Science Daily what they have learned from the images and data collected by the probe.
Nasa’s InSight lander has managed to measure and record seismic waves travelling through the core of Mars, allowing researchers to work out the materials within it.
Lead author of the study, Dr Jessica Irving from the University of Bristol, said the data suggests that rather than being just a ball of iron, Mars also contains a large amount of sulphur, as well as other elements including a small amount of hydrogen.
