New data has revealed that hybrid working has become a permanent way of life, and millions less rail journeys are being made in and out of the capital on weekdays.
London’s three main “commuter railways” – South Western, Southeastern and GoVia Thameslink, which runs Southern, Thameslink and Great Northern – are carrying about 22 million fewer passengers a month than four years ago.
