Flights have resumed at Germany's Munich airport after a temporary suspension when smoke was detected.
Following a fire department response, flight operations resumed at 10:15pm on Sunday (6:15am Monday AEST), the airport said in a statement on its website.
The tower at the airport was evacuated at 8:33pm due to the smell of smoke, the airport said earlier.
A fire has broken out in the air traffic control tower at Munich Airport, Germany's second-busiest airport, forcing the suspension of flight operations since 8:33 PM local time.

There were some delays in arrivals and departures, with some flights reportedly being diverted.
German media said the incident appears to have been a false alarm. The reason for the flight interruption was a report of suspected smoke odour, according to media reports.
