The opening date for a popular American fast food chain in Cardiff has been confirmed. Wingstop, which specialises in chicken wings, will open its doors to the public on bank holiday Monday, May 29.
Visitors to the city centre will have seen the eatery taking shape the Brewery Quarter. It has replaced the former Busaba, a Thai restaurant that closed down after little more than a year.
It will be the first Wingstop in Wales with the company operating and franchising more than 1,700 locations worldwide. Lemon Pepper Holdings Ltd, the UK master franchisee and brand partner of Wingstop Restaurants Inc., previously confirmed it had signed the new lease in Cardiff.

As of March this year it owns and operates 30 Wingstop locations across the UK including major cities like Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and London. “We are thrilled to be opening our first Wingstop location in Cardiff," said Lemon Pepper Holdings director Tom Grogan. "We believe that our unique flavour profile, premium ingredients, and commitment to excellent customer service will quickly make us a beloved addition to the local dining scene.”
The 80-plus cover restaurant will have seating for both dine-in and takeaway. Customers will be able to order in store, online for pickup, or for delivery via Deliveroo. Wingstop was was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Its menu offers classic wings, boneless wings, and tenders tossed and sauced by hand in 10 distinctive flavours such as garlic parmesan and spicy Korean. Other options include seasoned fries and ranch and blue cheese dips.
