Sausage rolls, steak bakes and doughnuts will soon be on the menu for Salford residents as a date has been set for their Quays branch to open. And it’s VERY soon.
A poster has been put up in the window to reveal the launch date, depicting a bacon barm reading ‘You can almost taste it’, with the opening day underneath.
The MediaCity store is located in the former Booths unit next to the new Co-op store, and has created 25 new, local jobs. And will welcome customers through its doors next weekend.

The date set for the branch to open is Saturday, July 23. The giant store joins 102 outlets in Greater Manchester, and is a welcome addition to Salford Quays for foodie fans.
Kaleigh Pie wrote on Twitter: “The Co-op opening at MediaCity has been an absolute lunch game changer. Little £1 off vouchers on the app, good meal deal options, decent prices. And soon we'll have a Greggs that's not a 15 mins walk from the office.”
Jen Thomas added: “Uh oh. There’s a @GreggsOfficial opening in @MediaCityUK on 23rd July. Goodbye money.”
The 1,500 sq ft shop will be a popular lunch spot for shoppers and workers alike, offering affordable bakes, soups and desserts among a number of other menu items.
Chris Reay, MediaCity Property Director said: “We know there’s a dedicated Greggs fan base across MediaCity. It will provide a good value, convenience food offering which will be in demand from our growing numbers of workers, residents and visitors alike. It will be an incredible success here.”
