The opening date of Poundland's new flagship store in Nottingham has been announced.
Set to be one of the biggest in the UK, the shop will be around three times bigger than the average Poundland.
Some 18,000 sq ft of retail space will be showcasing the usual food and drink, beauty, homeware, DIY and stationery bargains, plus the new store will have a chilled and frozen food section - and "a surprise", selling items never previously sold by Poundland before.
The official opening date will be Saturday, February 12.
Based at the former Outfit unit at Riverside Retail Park, off Queens Drive, it is one of a number of new stores to open there recently.
Home Bargains and JD Sports have taken over the former Toys R Us property.
The Food Warehouse, part of the Iceland chain, is also set to open within the former Toys R Us superstore, creating dozens of jobs.
Outfit, which used to sell fashions from Dorothy Perkins, Topman, Topshop, Burton and Miss Selfridge, closed after the Arcadia Group when into administration in 2020.
Shoppers previously welcomed the news Poundland was opening.
Sofia Delgaudio, 61, from Cotgrave, said: “I like Poundland, you seem to get more for your money.
“It’s a good idea but you spend too much money there don't you?"
