Those plonkers Del Boy and Rodney are finally coining it in.
A souvenir has been minted to mark the 40th anniversary of Only Fools and Horses – and costs almost 20 nicker.
The show about the wheeler-dealer Trotter brothers and their pals in Peckham, south London, is regularly voted TV’s top sitcom of all time.
The limited edition £19.99 medal features Del’s iconic three-wheel van on one side and his catchphrase “This time next year we’ll be millionaires!” on the other.
And some of Del’s best-known dodgy deals, including the launch of Peckham Spring Water and attempts to sell Alpine ski suits in Peckham market, are featured in an illustrated information card.
Only Fools and Horses, starring Sir David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst, was first screened in September 1981 and ran for 64 episodes, until Christmas Day 2003.
The programme, centred on Del and Rodney’s madcap get-rich schemes, holds the record as the most-watched comedy with 24.3million viewers in 1996.
The cushty souvenir coin can be bought through the Royal Mint website – and fans will be keen to say “Bonjour” to one.
Tim Keevill, who owns a Robin Reliant just like Del’s, says his telly hero would have welcomed the medal as a money-making opportunity.
The 57-year-old, of Bridgend, south Wales, joked: “He’d be down the market with his uncle Albert selling them as genuine wartime medals.”
But it won’t be legal tender – even at Del’s beloved Nag’s Head.
