The Commerce Ministry is scheduled to open a new online outlet called TOPTHAI Store on Taiwanese e-commerce platform PChome Store on March 29 to tap Taiwanese buyers, focusing initially on fashion and bio-, circular and green (BCG) products.
According to Phusit Ratanakul Sereroengrit, director-general of the International Trade Promotion Department, the department has selected Thai premium fashion and BCG products with outstanding designs from 50 Thai entrepreneurs to sell via the online Thai store on Taiwan's PChome Store.
"The PChome platform is highly popular among Taiwanese online shoppers and is an important platform to help drive the Taiwanese economy," said Mr Phusit.
"This partnership is a good opportunity for Thai products to sell online in Taiwan, where consumers are aware of environmental issues in line with global trends."
Wen-Hsiung Tsai, managing director of PChome (Thailand) Co, said the launch of the online store on the platform should promote Thailand's products among Taiwanese consumers and raise brand awareness of Thai quality in that market.
Chanthapat Panjamanond, director of the Office of Digital Commerce Market under the International Trade Promotion Department, said the department plans to team up with PChome to organise activities under the theme "cross-border e-commerce in the global market".
The department is prepared to invite representatives from PChome to talk to Thai entrepreneurs and jointly select Thai products to be sold on the TOPTHAI Store.
Popular Thai products among Taiwanese online shoppers include home decoration items, fashion items, food products, and dried fruit.
The TOPTHAI Store on PChome is the sixth such outlet the department has on overseas online platforms.
The department previously launched two TOPTHAI stores in China on Tmall.com and the Tmall Global platform, one store on India's Bigbasket.com, one on Amazon.com in the US, and one on Klangthai.com in Cambodia.
