One person was injured after a crash at a roundabout in Sunderland, which caused major traffic delays.
Police closed part of the B1405 at around 2.30pm on Tuesday after the crash at the St Luke’s Road roundabout in Pallion. One of the two cars was severely damaged with the front end completely destroyed.
Crews from North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) were also in attendance with the service confirming that one person was taken to hospital for treatment.

"We received a call at 2.36pm this afternoon to reports of a road traffic incident on St Luke's Road, Sunderland,” an NEAS spokeswoman said.
“We dispatched one ambulance crew, and received support from our colleagues at Northumbria Police and the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service. We transported one patient to the Sunderland Royal Hospital for further treatment."
Traffic was backed up around Pallion while emergency services were on the scene.
Northumbria Police were also contacted.
